LOAN UNDERWRITER

Home Loan is currently looking for a Loan Underwriters to work in our Warwick, Rhode Island headquarters.

Position Responsibilities:

• Evaluate risk of all mortgage applicants
• Review and analyze applicant's credit, income and collateral documentation
• Prepare final figures for all loan closings
• Communicate with attorneys, title companies and real estate appraisers to complete the loan process

Qualifications:

• Good verbal and written skills
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to work under pressure
• Excellent investigative and analytical skills
• Professional attitude
• College graduate

Training:

We take pride in the comprehensive training we offer our new employees. All Home Loan Loan Underwriters are required to complete our training program, irrespective of past experience, to ensure that all of our Underwriters are knowledgeable about our processes and proper industry standards, and so they can achieve their full potential in this challenging environment. Topics covered include the principles of credit analysis, income review, residential property appraisal analysis, as well as training in all aspects of mortgage loan documentation and title review. Our training program covers a wide range of mortgage programs including conforming, non-conforming, prime and sub-prime.

Upon completion of the training program, Loan Underwriters become responsible for evaluating the risk of all mortgage applicants.
